It is popular for its limestone crags, crystal rivers, caves, and temples as well as its laid back cafes and bars. Yangshuo has long been a mecca for travellers. As the old saying goes "Guilin's scenery is the finest under heaven. But Yangshuo's is even better." From this, one can know that the natural scenery of Yangshuo is unique.

In Yangshuo, there are more than 20,000 hills. Pedalling across the rice fields through Yangshuo's stunning peaks is an interesting and exciting experience for tourists. If you're like most, you'll come to Yangshuo for a couple of days after the Li River cruise but end up staying longer.

Yangshuo is the terminal of the 65 kilometer-long Li River cruise boat tour from Guilin. It isn't a typical Chinese town. Yangshuo has a reputation as a tiny global village in Southern China. It is more like a vacation town, with an exotic blend of cultures where East meets West.

1. Where Is Yangshuo?

Yangshuo locationYangshuo lies to the southeast of Guilin and in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is under the jurisdiction of the city of Guilin. Yangshuo County covers an area of 1,428 square km and has 20,000 hectares of land used for agricultural cultivation. It has a population about 300,000, making up of different ethnic groups such as Han, Zhuang, Yao, Hui, etc.

Yangshuo has a long history of 1400 year in which the people there have created their own culture, such as long drum dance, song gathering Cai Diao opera, dragon and lion dance, the natural scenery there are gardens mrelics and sites in the history, ancient bridge and other architectures and stone carvings.



2. What Is The Best Time To Travel Yangshuo?

Yangshuo is suitable for traveling all year round, the best travelling time is from March until November. The weather in Yangshuo is subtropical, with sufficient rainfall, sunlight, and heat around the whole year. On average each year the temperature is 19 centigrade, the amount of sunlight is 1,465 hours, the rainfall is 1,640mm. There are about 300 days per year without frost. In general, the weather is neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter.

3. How To Travel To Yangshuo?

Yangshuo has neither airport nor railway station. To travel to Yangshuo, usually you have to go to Guilin then take public bus, private car or Li River boat to get to Yangshuo. How to travel to Guilin?
You can also get to Yangshuo by coach from other cities or towns. From Guangdong, overnight sleeper buses run direct to Yangshuo from Shenzhen (near Hong Kong), Zhuhai (near Macau), or Guangzhou. There are 3 buses from Nanning every day.

Yangshuo's climate is subtropical and monsoon-influenced. The coldest time is January with an average temperature of about 9°C (48°F) whilethe warmest months are July and August with an average temperature of about 28°C (82°F). The best time to visit is from April to October when it is relatively mild and pleasant and the scenery is more lush and beautiful. The county is famous for its many unique festivals that take place from early May until the end of the year.
